100 Series MSS-L Spoiler System

The Modular Spoiler System - Lightweight (MSS-L) is the ultimate blend of utility and style for the back of your 100 Series Landcruiser/LX470. 

While this is absolutely a drop-in replacement for the old brittle black plastic wing (not the “whale tail”) found on many 100 series, we started from the ground (hatch) up with custom engineered mounting brackets that replace the OEM brackets, but utilize the same mounting holes in the body of the truck (no drilling if you had a black plastic wing!). 

These brackets are contoured to fit the rear hatch perfectly, and feature outdoor grade neoprene foam on top & bottom to keep everything water tight - no need to worry about water getting into the inside of your hatch through the bolt holes! The body compresses the foam on the underside, and the wing compresses it on the top of the bracket. 

In addition to being printed with a carbon-fiber reinforced ASA material, the mounting brackets each feature two aluminum “strengthening plates” that are connected via bolts that pass through the bracket to load the entire bracket in compression - this means that these mounting rackets are significantly stronger than the factory OEM brackets! Truly a fantastic base to build upon.

After sorting the mounting system, the next place to work on was the design of the wing itself. We wanted something that complemented the contours of the rear of a 100 series well, but that was also aggressive - reminiscent of the F-117 stealth fighter. 

The 3-piece design that was ultimately settled on is precisely laser cut & bent out of aluminum - again, for a durable solution that'll outlast a dozen of the OEM black plastic wings. The wings taper inwards & downwards, following the body lines of the truck well. 

There are two variations to choose from: a “pointy” version (pictured on the silver/blue truck) and a “not-pointy” version (pictured on the gray truck) - either is fantastic, and allows you to choose whether you'd like your truck to look “capable, but restrained”, or straight-up “it's party time!”.

Finally, the icing on the cake is the integrated chase light pods. These are designed to fit either flush-mount Baja Design S2 lights (we recommend the “wide cornering” variant) or these S2-clones for the more budget conscience (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0D31HQQV3?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) using an included bezel & bracket. The pods themselves feature a 10 degree downward tilt (when mounted on the truck & referenced to level), which is enough to throw light far rearward, but also avoid blinding people who are following from a reasonable distance. 

The kit include everything you need (other than lights) including all stainless steel hardware throughout. We also include stainless steel rivnuts for use when installing on trucks that did not have the black plastic wing originally (which obviously requires drilling the rear hatch).

Please note, these are sold in RAW aluminum with the intent of you choosing your own finish type. Raw aluminum pieces will have some light surface imperfections as the result of the fabricating process. Production units have "The Artisan Garage" on center section, as shown. Lights sold separately.
