4th Gen 4Runner Rear Hatch Light Mount (2003-2009)

The factory rear lighting on the 4th Gen 4Runner is... well, it’s sorta OK. If you’ve ever tried to organize your recovery gear or cook a meal at a dark campsite, you know the struggle of working in your own shadow. This is especially annoying if you've got a drawer system that you need to find tools or supplies in late at night!

To solve this, Lumberjack Engineering has designed a sleek, integrated lighting solution that replaces the small plastic access panel for the rear latch mechanism. This puts the light exactly where you need it—overhead and centered—casting a broad, usable beam across your entire cargo area and the ground behind your truck.

Why This Design?

• OEM+ Integration: This isn't a universal "stick-on" light. It replaces the factory access trim piece for a perfectly flush, factory-style look.
• Zero Permanent Mods: The mount locks in directly into the factory hatch opening. No drilling, no cutting, and 100% reversible if you ever sell the rig.
• High-Temp Durability: Manufactured from Carbon-Fiber Reinforced ASA, this mount is designed to withstand the heat of a closed 4Runner in the summer without warping or sagging.

Choose Your Light Flavor

We offer three specific variants to fit the industry’s leading compact trail lights:

1. KC Cyclone Variant: The KC Cyclone is a well-performing (but still low-cost) light from a reputable company.
2. Diode Dynamics Variant: Want the ultimate in performance? The Diode Dynamic Stage Series rock light features a high/low mode, and on high it offers 40% more lumens than the KC Cyclone. Diode Dynamics builds these lights in the USA, which is also super cool! 
3. Baja Designs Variant: By customer request - the Baja Designs Rock/Domelight is another great, high-quality option!
   

What’s Included:

• (1) Lumberjack Engineering Hatch Access Panel Mount
• (1) Toggle Switch pre-installed into the housing. The KC Cyclone & Baja Designs variants are a on/off switch, while the Diode Dynamics variant is a high/off/low switch.
• Note: LED Light and wiring harness are sold separately.

What you need to source elsewhere:

• Your choice of light (KC Cyclone, Diode Dynamics Stage Series Rock Light, or Baja Designs Rock Light)
  • KC Cyclone Link
  • Diode Dynamics Link 
  • Baja Designs Link
• Wire (~4 feet of red/black 18 gauge wire)
• Connectors (Insulated spade connectors work great)
• Splice connectors (butt, etc) to tap into the constant 12V and ground wire already existing in the hatch.
