The rear dome light in the 100 Series LC/LX is so far forward in the rear cargo area - it'd probably great if you've actually got someone in the third row, but for all of us with drawer systems it does nothing but just cast shadows everywhere. This makes finding things in your drawer system (or fridge, etc) late at night challenge - which is especially frustrating when you're trying to find a tool to fix something broken late at night!

To address this issue, Lumberjack Engineering has design the ultimate rear hatch lighting system! These rear hatch light housings (coupled with Diode Dynamics Rock Lights) cast perfectly even illumination across the entire back of your tailgate & any drawers that you might have, all the while being sleekly integrated into the flow of the hatch trim & remaining unobtrusive when the hatch is shut.

The housings snap into the hatch trim without requiring any sort of permanent modification to the trim plastic, and feature a channel to guide the wiring out of the housing & under the trim discretely - protecting the wiring and keeping everything sleek looking!

The Diode Dynamic Rock Lights have both high/low settings, and the high/off/low switch included in the Lumberjack Engineering housings allow you to take full advantage of this! The wiring & install guide that we created (over on ih8mud - link below!) walks you through how to wire these up so that they only turn on when the rear hatch is opened, and will automatically turn off after 30 minutes (with the dome lights in the vehicle). The toggle switch on the driver side light housing allows you to turn them off though, so if you're just chilling on the tailgate at night you can easily toggle them off!

This listing is for the Lumberjack Engineering housings + toggle switch only - in order to complete the installation, you'll need to purchase:

You'll also need basic vehicle wiring/electrical tools - see the last photo for everything that I used.

This took me two hours to figure out the install & take enough photos to document it all. Using the guide that I created over on ih8mud (you can find that here!) I think most people with pretty basic wiring experience can probably complete it in that time by following the guide. Feel free to ask any questions that you have over on 'mud though - it'll only help the community out!
